As per RBI guidelines, any non-individual borrower with an aggregate exposure of
₹5 Crore and above from banks and financial institutions must obtain a
Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) code at the time of loan sanction.
Borrowers who do not obtain the LEI within the specified timeline (based on exposure brackets)
will be:
• Not sanctioned any new exposure, and
• Not eligible for enhancement of existing credit facilities.
LEI codes must be obtained from an authorized Local Operating Unit (LOU).
